It would be criminal to miss it! The world’s sexiest musical, CHICAGO, is back and bolder than ever, with an all-South African cast ready to light up Cape Town and Johannesburg stages in 2025.
Audiences can look forward to a sultry mix of jazz, crime, and courtroom drama as the hit show kicks off at Artscape Opera House, Cape Town, from 27 August to 28 September 2025, before moving to Montecasino’s Teatro, Johannesburg, from 3 October to 9 November 2025.
A showstopping South African cast
This year’s cast features some of the country’s finest stage talent. Kiruna-Lind Devar stars as Roxie Hart, the ambitious chorus girl turned murderess, alongside Samantha Peo, who reprises the role of Velma Kelly after dazzling international audiences on the CHICAGO World Tour. Tankiso Mamabolo takes on the role of the tough but witty Matron Mama Morton, while celebrated stage actor Jonathan Roxmouth returns as smooth-talking lawyer Billy Flynn. Dean de Klerk plays Roxie’s loyal husband, Amos Hart, with M.E. Marvey as reporter Mary Sunshine.
Broadway at its best
Associate Director Tânia Nardini and choreographer Gary Chryst recreate the original New York production, while Kevin Kraak leads an 11-piece live orchestra.
