Doggy high tea returns for summer: Cape Town’s 4-legged foodies get their own afternoon affair
Cape Town’s most stylish pups are set for a treat this spring as The President Hotel brings back its much-loved “Doggy High Tea” on Saturday, 25 October 2025, from 2pm to 5pm.
Known for combining elegance with a playful twist, the event promises a tail-wagging afternoon where furry friends and their humans can dine side by side in seaside luxury.
On the menu for canine guests? A chef-curated spread of delights including tail-wagging terrine with chicken liver and spinach, salmon and sweet potato croquettes, and irresistible desserts like peanut butter pup cakes, strawberry banana bites and more.
And while the pooches tuck in, owners won’t be left out – humans are treated to a gourmet selection featuring roasted mebos chicken vol-au-vents, melanzane tartlets, smoked trout finger sandwiches, plus sweet indulgences from buttermilk scones to milk tart éclairs.
Now in its third season, the Doggy High Tea has become a firm favourite for pet-loving Capetonians.
Not only is it a chance to spoil your dog, but it’s also a social afternoon where owners can connect over their shared love of furry companions..
Tickets are R300 per pooch and R350 per parent, with limited spaces available.
